Ruth Langsford was forced to apologize to This Morning viewers on Monday’s live show, after their studio guest insulted on-air.

Katie Morley was on the show taking calls from people in need of consumer advice, speaking to a lady called Lesley who was recounting a problem she had gotten reimbursed.

Katie’s response was, “Oh, I’m sorry honey, that’s crap! “

It wasn’t long before she put a hand over her mouth as she realized her blunder, with Ruth quickly stepping in and apologizing to viewers for the morning slip.

“I apologize for that! Ruth said, as Katie mumbled “so sorry!

Ruth’s co-host and husband Eamonn Holmes didn’t seem overly impressed with the mistake, after which Katie attempted to continue the segment.

Ruth and Eamonn stepped in to host This Morning during the week while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take on the summer.

Last week Ruth was far from impressed when her husband interrupted her as they opened the show.

The couple were talking to psychologist Emma Kenny about anxiety when Ruth, 60, started reading the autocue, but was quickly interrupted by Eamonn, also 60.

Ruth turned to the camera and started, “Yes, there is the number to call to get in touch …”

Eamon then said, “Monday morning blues, okay? This is exactly what we are talking about. If it’s there and in the pit of your stomach and you want to share, then do it.

He then became aware of Ruth’s mood adding, “I get that look from my wife saying …”

Ruth replied, “I was reading the number.

Eamon replied, “Honey, I didn’t think you explained correctly what we …”
