Renee Young has confirmed she is leaving WWE after nearly eight years of working with the company.

Announcing the news on the kickoff of SummerSlam tonight (August 23), Renee said, “I’m so excited to be here to do my last hurray in WWE. I wouldn’t be anywhere else than here at SummerSlam with this wonderful panel in the ThunderDome! “

During her time in WWE, Renee worked as a presenter, behind-the-scenes interviewer and commentator, becoming one of WWE’s most loved and respected figures among fans.

Most recently, she hosted WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1, alongside Booker T and CM Punk, which unfortunately was canceled by the network in June.

In August 2018, Renee made history by becoming the first woman to comment on an entire episode of Brut.

She then became a full-time member of the Brut comment in October until she moved to SmackDown as a “Special Contributor” in 2019.

In June, Renee confirmed that she had tested positive for COVID-19, the same week FS1 announced the cancellation of WWE Backstage.

Renee tweeted, “Dude. What days. My show is canceled and I get Covid. Wear your masks and wash your hands. Stay safe, everyone. “

Last month, Renee announced that she had written a cookbook, having previously shared her cooking skills on social media.

Renee was also a cast member for season six of E! reality series Total Divas. She appeared on the series alongside her husband, current AEW wrestler Jon Moxley.
