Rangers have signed forwards Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe on four-year deals for undisclosed charges.
Itten, 23, is from St. Gallen in Switzerland and Roofe, 27, is from Belgian club Anderlecht.
Roofe has scored seven times in 16 appearances in an injury-interrupted campaign at the Brussels club.
And Switzerland international Itten scored 20 club goals last season and scored three times in two appearances for his country.
Rangers say both players will join the squad after the Europa League’s last 16 second leg on Thursday with Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, Leverkusen leading 3-1.
Manager Steven Gerrard was keen to bolster his attacking options with speculation about the future of Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe on the sidelines due to injury.
Roofe scored 32 goals in three years at Leeds before moving to Anderlecht. He rose through the ranks at West Bromwich Albion but made his breakthrough at Oxford United, scoring 26 goals in his only full season there before moving to Elland Road for £ 3million.
“Rangers are a huge club, with ambition and I know this is the right fit for me to progress in my career,” he told the club’s website.
Gerrard commented: “Kemar is recognized across Europe as a smart striker with an eye for goal. He has seen the pressure and expectations at Leeds United and has played on the Continent which will place him well for his time at Ibrox. ”
It’s Gerrard and dit the food: “Cédric is a goalscorer who will add even more strength and depth to our team.
“The fact that we announced two attack options on the same day underscores our intention to strengthen our team early in the campaign. “
Roofe “a good deal”
Liam Cooper, former Roofe teammate at Leeds
He was great for us. He worked hard for the team and when he has the chance he is a serious finisher. He is still very hungry.
He believes in himself, he supports himself in all situations. He lives the right way, he’s a real professional. It’s a good thing.
