Prince Harry and Meghan buy a house in Santa Barbara

Prince Harry and Meghan have taken root in Santa Barbara, California.

A rep for the couple told CNN they moved into the house last month.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into their family home in July this year,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “They have settled into the quiet privacy of their community since arriving and hope this will be respected for their neighbors, as well as for them as a family. ”

The couple can now call some of their famous friends – like Oprah Winfrey, who lives nearby – neighbors.

This new chapter comes just a few months after the close of another. In January, the two announced they were stepping down from the royal family. They said at the time that they wanted to be financially independent.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year by starting to carve out a new progressive role within this institution,” the couple wrote in a statement posted on their former Instagram account. earlier this year. “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work towards becoming financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. ”

It did not go as planned. The palace issued its own statement in response and several conversations took place. Soon after, the couple moved to Canada with their son, Archie.

The couple have kept a low profile since moving to Meghan’s hometown in Los Angeles. They have been seen delivering meals to residents in need during the pandemic since they officially stepped down from royal duties in March.

Markle also appears to be re-establishing herself in her Hollywood roots as the narrator of the Disney + documentary, “Elephants.”
