Police identified 32-year-old victim of fatal Vaughan shooting


Police have identified a fatally shot, 32-year-old man near a shopping mall in Vaughan, Ontario. during the weekend.

Emergency teams were called to the area of ​​Thistlewood and Islington avenues on Sunday around 5:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, officers found a man with gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as Toronto resident Marwan Awdi, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests were made in connection with the shooting, but with the help of the public, police were able to find a suspicious vehicle seen fleeing the area at the time of the incident.

Investigators released an image of the vehicle on Monday, describing it as a black Ford F-150 pickup truck with four doors and black rims.

“As a result of the advice received, the vehicle was identified and was located unoccupied in the 5th Line and 10th Sideroad area in the town of Bradford West Gwillimbury,” police said in a press release on Wednesday.
