Player’s “probable destination” of wolves – Interest of Spain and France, but England move preferred

On Friday we covered Portugal’s claims regarding the Wolves’ interest in João Palhinha. Not to be confused with Braga’s Paulinho, who Wolves are also linked to, Palhinha is a midfielder who spent the season on loan at Braga through Sporting. The Lisbon club do not see a future for him with them and therefore a sale is scheduled for this summer. There are interested clubs in Spain and France, but Palhinha prefers to switch to English football.

Wolves are being pointed out as the ‘likely destination’ for the 25-year-old, and although Sporting are hoping for € 15million, it is suggested they may not be able to reach such a level.

Given that Palhinha has not been able to break through at Sporting, which has not been good for quite some time, and has been loaned to both Belenenses and Braga in recent years, it is unlikely that he could have an impact at Wolves.

It could be a scenario that has seen the player’s agents and Sporting look for options and land on Wolves given their recruiting in Portugal in recent years.
