Payless is making a comeback just in time for back to school with the launch of a new website on Tuesday.

“We’re back and bringing more community responsibility, cutting-edge footwear and trendy partnerships to our 60 million Payless customers we missed,” Payless CEO Jared Margolis said in a press release. “We saw an opportunity for the brand to relaunch itself in the US market, providing our community with the affordable, value-driven products that it has always sought, now in multiple categories, at a time when value could not. not be more critical. ”

The shoe retailer has undergone a name change, removing “Shoesource” from its official brand, but it still plans to deliver “the same unprecedented commitment to providing value to their community, now through a range of apparel, accessories and shoes. ”

San Francisco, USA – April 8, 2014: Shoppers visit Payless Shoesource shoe store in San Francisco, USA. There were approximately 660 Payless ShoeSource stores in North America in 2011.

The move comes after Payless announced in January that it was coming out of its second Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2019, which had closed its remaining 2,100 sites in North America.
