David Nagy, who died on July 22, is one of nearly 7,000 Texas residents who have lost their lives to the novel coronavirus.
Heartbroken by the death of her husband, Nagy’s grieving widow, Stacey, wrote a passionate obituary, putting the blame on President Donald Trump, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, and what she described as selfish anti-masks.
“The responsibility for his death and the deaths of all other innocent people lies with Trump, Abbott and all the other politicians who did not take this pandemic seriously and were more concerned with their popularity and their votes than their lives.” Nagy wrote. “The many ignorant, egotistical and selfish people who have refused to take the advice of medical professionals are also to blame, believing that their ‘right’ not to wear a mask was more important than killing innocent people.
The obituary was published in the Jefferson Jimplecute journal and could not be found online. Several people shared photos of the printed version of the obituary, which was released on July 30. Jefferson is a city in eastern Texas, approximately 165 kilometers from Dallas. It has a population of approximately 1,961 inhabitants.
Some tweeted copies of the obituary to Trump.

The obituary says David Nagy, 79, died in the ICU at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas.
Nagy leaves behind five children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his obituary says.
Stacey Nagy described herself in the obituary as inconsolable and said her husband had been separated from his family in his final days. Medical protocol requires that COVID-19 patients be isolated during their care due to the highly contagious nature of the virus.
Stacey Nagy did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.
“Dave did everything he was supposed to do, but you didn’t,” Nagy wrote to politicians and anti-masks in the obituary. “Shame on you all, and may Karma find you all!” “
