Cinema in the era of the crown

In 2020, big theatrical releases don’t play out quite the same way as before. Bill and Ted face the music, the third installment of the franchise starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, was another film grappling with a global Covid19 pandemic it keeps moviegoers from stepping out of a crowded theater, along with a whole list of changes in everyday life.

While some films postpone a theatrical release until further notice, others find homes on the small screen through video on demand, such as Mulan de Disney.

Bill & Ted’s quick follow-up of Face the Music to video on demand follows in the footsteps of other 2020 releases like Trolls World Tour, Birds of Prey et Sonic the Hedgehog which allowed viewers to watch them safely from the comfort of their quarantine bunkers.

After Bill & Ted’s excellent adventure and Bill & Ted’s dummy journey, Face the Music is another story about how the music of Ted’s band “Theodore” Logan and Bill S. Preston Esq., The Wyld Stallyns , is vital for the survival of the human race. A trailer revealed that the titular duo must write a song to save the world, so they decide to visit the future and take the song, which has already been written, on their own. Their daughters are also there to help them in their excellent new quest.
