Nia DaCosta, the director of “Little Woods” who is directing the highly anticipated next revival of the franchise “Candyman”, has been set up to director of the upcoming “Captain Marvel” sequel at Marvel Studios.
DaCosta takes over from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck who directed the first movie that opened last year and grossed $ 1.13 billion worldwide.
Marvel is changing directors on its franchises with Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America all seeing at least one change at the helm during their trilogy of solo films.
DaCosta reportedly met Marvel boss Kevin Feige this weekend. Megan McDonnell, who worked on the upcoming “WandaVision” series, is writing the script for the sequel with Brie Larson returning to play the role of Carol Danvers.
