NFL removes Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar from commissioner’s exemption list

The Seattle Seahawks received excellent news on Friday when cornerback Quinton Dunbar had the armed robbery charges against him dropped due to insufficient evidence. Having been placed on the commissioner’s exonerated list shortly after his arrest, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says Dunbar will be removed from the list.

This means Dunbar can join the Seahawks and train with the squad, but he is not necessarily free to play in Week 1. We will await the NFL’s decision on whether Dunbar will still be suspended even if he is. ‘He won’t be criminally prosecuted, but most importantly, he’ll be in the Seahawks’ high school as we had hoped when he was acquired in March.

Feast your eyes on this group of players:

Projected exterior cornerbacks: Quinton Dunbar, Shaquill Griffin

Projected departure safeguards: Quandre Diggs, Jamal Adams

Nickel Package Key Reserves / Defensive Backs: Tre Flowers, Ugo Amadi, Marquise Blair

On paper, this has the potential to be a really good secondary, which was clearly one of John Schneider and Pete Carroll’s top priorities.

Now about that rushed passage …
