X-rays of New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu’s left ankle came back negative and showed no fractures, the source told @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. The No.1 pick suffered a sprained ankle tonight.

Ionescu rolled her ankle in the second quarter as she pushed onto the field and her foot descended to the feet of Dream’s Betnijah Laney. She was helped off the field with the help of two team members and did not return to the game.
In his first two WNBA games, Ionescu impressed, averaging 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists to start his professional career.
She was selected first overall by the Liberty in the 2020 WNBA Draft after a four-year career at the University of Oregon.
