New virus hits China as France fears ‘joining Spain on quarantine list’ – The Scottish Sun

CHINA has been hit by another virus believed to have been transmitted through tick bites, killing seven people and at least 60 infected.

France has seen a spike in Covid infections sound the alarm on an imminent second wave, its Ministry of Health said: “The situation is precarious. We could at any time switch to a less controlled scenario, as in Spain. ”

Meanwhile, thousands of coronavirus deaths are expected to be removed from official records due to flaws in the way they are counted.

An urgent review of the errors has revealed that anyone who dies after testing positive is included in official Covid-related death statistics – even if their death occurs months later.

The numbers are now expected to be aligned with those for Scotland and Northern Ireland, where deaths are only counted in official records if they occur 28 days after testing positive for a no one.

And today, UK officials said another 49 people have died, bringing the death toll to 46,413.
