Mike Tyson said Roy Jones Jr had a better career than heavyweight legend

Mike Tyson may have led the heavyweight division – but Roy Jones Jr had a better career. This is the point of view of the former world champion Badou Jack who will fight under the card of the exhibition fight of the legends.

The bout, more than eight rounds in California, was due to take place next month but will now take place on November 28.

Jack will face undefeated Blake McKernan on the card which also features YouTube star Jake Paul against former NBA star Nate Robinson.

And Jack, who has fought Britons James DeGale and George Groves in exciting world title fights, believes Jones’s career achievements outweigh those of Tyson.

Roy Jones was a four-weight world champion during his career

“In their bonuses, I think Roy probably had a better career, but Tyson is a heavyweight… a real heavyweight,” he said.

Tyson still holds the record for the youngest world heavyweight champion in history after defeating Trevor Berbick to lead the division at the age of 20.

But although he carried brutal power, he was defeated by rivals Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis towards the end of his career.

Jones, meanwhile, held world titles in four weight divisions, from middleweight to heavyweight, and did not retire until 2018.

Mike Tyson was a knockout machine in his prime

The two Legends trained recently with Tyson looking in better shape – although doubts have been raised about how they will perform in the fight.

“I hope they don’t get hurt,” Jack added. “Tyson is dangerous, Roy is too. Tyson is super explosive but they [both] old now.

“I’m just thrilled to be a part of it and to see them move. I don’t know if they’re going to do everything. I don’t think Mike Tyson can take it easy, but we’ll see what happens. . ”
