Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have expressed immense gratitude to Tyler Perry after gifting his Los Angeles mansion to the royal couple.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent a few months at Perry’s residence before moving into their forever home in Santa Barbara.
“They are really grateful to Tyler Perry for his kindness,” said a source close to the couple. PEOPLE.
“They are infinitely grateful to him for helping them through a difficult time. ”
“With COVID and as they stepped down from royal duties, it provided them with a safe haven,” the source added.
While in Los Angeles, Meghan and Harry spent a lot of time volunteering with various charities.
“What Meghan said was that she wanted to show Harry Los Angeles through the eyes of philanthropy. It’s just beautiful, ”said Richard Ayoub, Executive Director of Project Angel Food previously. “There is obviously a lot of love and altruism between them. ”
Last month, former royals bought their new palace in Montecito, Santa Barbara.
They hope they can give Archie “as normal a life as possible” there.
“They were thirsty for a smaller community and a slower pace,” a source revealed.
“Montecito is very sweet, a charming little town and the Santa Barbara [area] offers an ideal lifestyle that they look forward to. They believe the new home is a place of peace – and it offers inspiration to build Archewell [foundation], which they are focusing on, ”he added.
