Giannis has a new best friend
… Said Celtics goaltender Jaylen Brown, who was among those upset with refereeing when they lost to the Bucks, in which there was a canceled block and 50-50 calls against Boston.
At the end of the fourth quarter of a tied game, after Boston erased an early 15-point deficit, Giannis Antetokounmpo was called up for a charge when Marcus Smart slipped under the reigning MVP. The call, however, was reversed and, after Antetokounmpo hit the free throw to end the game at three points, the Bucks led 110-107 on their way to the 119-112 victory (in which Kemba Walker became the most expensive cheerleader in the NBA.).“The excuse was that I was late on the charge,” Smart said after the game. “The proofreading center said I was late and it was a blockage. Frankly, I think we all know what it was about. Giannis has six fouls. They didn’t want to bring him out. Let’s just call a spade a spade. This is exactly what it is. “Shortly after, Brown posted a photoshopped image of Giannis and Ken Mauer on his Instagram Story.
Four days after the Miami Marlins were suspended from the season after 17 players and staff at the time tested positive for COVID-19, there was an outbreak within the Cardinals’ organization. On Friday, the Cardinals announced two positive tests, which led to the cancellation of Friday night’s game against the Brewers.
On Saturday morning, “several” other Cardinals players tested positive, reported Craig Mish, with Ken Rosenthal adding that there were “between four and six” additional players. The Cardinals were scheduled to face the Brewers at Miller Park on Saturday and end the series with a brace on Sunday.
“In texting conversations with their teammates on Friday, MLBPA player representatives warned that if there was a big jump in COVID + testing over the weekend, the MLB season could be canceled.” Jeff Passan said on Saturday morning, noting that it “is not clear what the threshold is. The Cardinals’ new positive tests come a day after Rob Manfred told MLBPA executive director Tony Clark that if baseball doesn’t handle epidemics better, the season will end.
$ 365 million arm
Every Saturday morning, I don’t have a plan for hot clicks. I could pick up on some of the Friday stuff or grab some links, tweets, and videos that people have posted throughout the week, but in general I don’t have a firm plan and leave the notable stories of the week. -end dictate the content. This weekend, a swivel chair dictates the content.
I switched to The Ocho subdirectory for the first time since ‘Nam and was captivated by the Kuopio Swivelympics, a swivel chair competition in Kuopio, a town in the Northern Savonia region of Finland. Every day during the postponed Tokyo Olympics, The Ocho posts coverage of the Swivelympics, where residents compete for the most spins on a swivel chair. At the end of last week, Paul used “a much more relaxed technique than anything seen before.” Here’s full coverage of the Kuopio Swivelympics.
Side note: It sent me a bunny role, which led to a video of a guy in a swivel chair… with a leaf blower strapped to himself.
