MANCHESTER, England – Manchester United captain Harry Maguire “is cooperating fully” with Greek authorities, the England club said on Friday, following reports he was arrested after an incident on Mykonos island .United said they were “aware of an alleged incident” involving England center on Thursday and contacted him.

Local police said three British nationals were facing charges of verbal abuse and use of physical violence against police after officers were called to an incident in Mykonos involving two groups of people. The three men were placed under arrest after attacking police outside the police station, police said, without naming Maguire.

United players are on hiatus out of season after losing in the Europa League quarter-finals last weekend.

Maguire is the world’s most expensive defender, having signed for United from Leicester last year in an £ 80million ($ 97million) deal.
