Although a critical and box office disappointment upon release – even after a promotional appearance where MacGruber was nearly wiped out on WWE’s Monday Night RAW – MacGruber has developed a cult following over the years. “After rotting in jail for over a decade, ultimate hero and uber American patriot MacGruber (Will Forte) is finally released. His mission: to eliminate a mysterious villain from his past, Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in his sights, MacGruber must race against time to defeat the forces of evil – only to find that evil … can lurk within. ”

It is not yet known whether Forte co-stars Kristen Wiig and Ryan Phillippe will also reprise their roles (as Vicki St. Elmo and Dixon Piper, respectively) for the series. In our MacGruber review, we said, “Forte and Wiig are giving a comedy masterclass, with the couple seemingly willing to do anything to make a laugh. “
