She said local numbers could not be shared at the start of the pandemic due to privacy concerns.

“At first we gave larger geographic areas because there were such a small number of people who would identify (others) if they knew that people had traveled to certain areas or had returned from a boat from. cruise, for example, ”she said.

Regional information was provided several months later, dividing the island’s health region into South, Center and North regions.

Newly located numbers will be updated at the end of each month.

Dr Henry on Thursday announced three new cases in Island Health, for a total of 173 since the start of the pandemic.

They were among 63 new diagnoses announced Thursday for the entire province.

There are currently 903 active coronavirus cases in British Columbia, with one additional death.
