Once a sample arrives, the lab tests it. Thompson said results are given within 24 to 48 hours via their app.
“We’ve automated the process so it’s really about having the equipment in line and most of it is run by professionally supervised robots,” said Thompson.
The Kansas-based company is currently working with local businesses and colleges to provide the tests. In a few weeks, they plan to grow considerably.
Thompson said the lab can perform up to 20,000 tests a day and hope to reach 50,000 soon.
It’s a big goal, he said, but the company sees the ongoing struggle in the Kansas City subway and other states and wants to help fight the virus.
“We have to learn to live with this until we have a vaccine,” Thompson said.
