Star “Knight Rider” Rebecca Holden and her record producer husband, Joël Diamond, had a rude awakening in the dead of night… an oak tree crashed into their property and cost them a car in the process. Joel tells TMZ… he and Rebecca were woken up late Friday night by a loud noise literally tearing apart their home in Calabasas. It turned out to be part of a nearby 6 ton oak tree that had tipped over for some reason. We are told that the tree burst through their bedroom window… and also crushed three vehicles below.
Sadly, one of those cars was Joel’s prized classic Jaguar – the rear of which was completely demolished by fallen wood. A total loss, without a doubt. What sucks is that Joel tells us that he had just recovered the whip from an auto body shop 2 days before.
No one was hurt, thankfully, but it seems a few of Joel’s friends were quite impressed with the bizarre phenomenon. Singer Tony Orlando – known for his # 1 hit, “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree” – made a crack … saying that among all the trees he had banded over the years, Joel and Rebecca were from afar the most remarkable. Also… Joel says a great arborist in the area came and valued the giant oak tree, valuing it at around $ 250,000. Talk about money growing on trees, eh ???
