Jurgen Klopp reveals final score of finishing contest during Liverpool training

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp opened with a training finishing contest that saw around 100 goals scored. The Reds are in Austria as pre-season preparations continue ahead of the big kickoff in September.

Later in the day they will face Stuttgart in a friendly match.

But on Thursday there was a heated shooting showdown which saw the team split into two groups.

Asked about the exercise by the club’s website, Klopp explained, “I have to say it wasn’t ‘young against old’ it was a final session with some special strengths and a youngster.

“So at that point when you see the senior team, then you think, ‘How could they lose the game?’

“But in the end, it’s absolutely possible. It was a very close decision – I think it was 47-45, so a lot of finishes are obviously involved. It’s just cool.

“With all the work that we have to do, we try to create a little competition where possible.

“A lot of the time it’s just about getting ourselves ready for the season, all of us for the season. It is quite a difficult job.

“So far the workouts have been obviously very good, the intensity level is pretty exciting, to be honest.
