Jet2 announces date vacation will start in Algarve after Portugal is removed from quarantine list

Jet2 has announced the resumption of flights to a favorite of British holidaymakers. The airline has confirmed that holidays in the Algarve will resume from next week after the relaxation of travel rules in Portugal.

Jet2 tweeted the announcement, saying, “EXCITING NEWS…. Our Algarve flights and vacations are back for summer 20!

“So what better time to book that much needed summer getaway than NOW…”

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office had recommended avoiding “non-essential” travel to Portugal throughout the crisis, and the country was not included in the first list of exempt countries.

However, today (August 20) Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced that Portugal would be added as a ‘travel lane’, allowing Britons to enjoy the sun without needing to quarantine for 14 days upon their return.

Airlines have wasted no time putting together plans for those wanting a last minute getaway.

Jet2s flights to Faro will resume from Stansted on Thursday, August 27, with flights and package holidays.
