Put on your dancing shoes cause there’s a whole new one Dirty dance come your way. By Deadline, Jennifer Gray, who was previously set to produce executives and star in a new movie Dirty Dancing with Lionsgate. The film, which is said to have been in the works for some time, is being directed by Warm bodies director Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer with a screenplay by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. Technically, this isn’t the first remake or sequel to the iconic ’80s film starring Jennifer Gray and the late Patrick Swayze, as ABC released a made-for-TV remake of the film Without Gray in 2017 starring Abigail Breslin and the often forgotten Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004) served away with a 23% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, if you are worried about the quality of the latest edition of the Dirty Dancing canon, fear not, as Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer assures us the film is in good hands. “It will be exactly the kind of romantic, nostalgic film that fans of the franchise have been waiting for and which has made it the best-selling library title in the history of the company,” said Feltheimer. As for what Grey’s Baby is going to do now, everyone’s guessing. Maybe Baby is passionate about 301 Fitness? Maybe Baby is divorced with her own grand-baby? Fingers crossed Gray has the time of his life recreating his iconic elevator with a much younger lover (possibly Channing Tatum).
