Jennifer Aniston Admits Why She Almost Left “Friends” Before Season 10 – “I Wanted It To End While People Still Loved Us”

There is no fun for everyone. however, friends the showrunners would have had a disaster on their hands if they had let Jennifer Aniston quit the show before final season 10 as she wanted.

Aniston enjoyed moderate success in her acting career before signing for the new NBC comedy which premiered in 1994. But even she couldn’t have predicted how famous she had become playing Rachel Green on the one of the most successful scripted sitcoms of all time.

In fact, Aniston almost turned down the role so she could work on a short-lived series called Muddle through. NBC executives were so convinced they needed Aniston to play Rachel that they intentionally helped cancel the other show by scheduling blockbuster movies in the same time slot.

These devious moves have paid off. friends fans couldn’t get enough of Rachel and imitated her hairstyle, clothes and manners. She was a much needed dose of sanity among a cast of unique characters. Viewers bonded with Rachel on a deeper level because she was so normal and refreshing.

Aniston Considered Leaving ‘Friends’ Before Final Season

In an interview with Matt Lauer on NBC, Aniston opened up about how she plans to quit the show before fans began to lose interest. Asked about this during the interview, the actor admitted why she had thought of leaving the series that made her famous.

“I had a few issues that I was facing. I wanted this to end when people still loved us and we were on the right track, ”she explained.

“And then I also felt – I felt – how much Rachel do I have in me?” … How many stories are there for all of us to tell before we are now pathetic?

Lucky for everyone, she decided to stay and ultimately felt bittersweet about the final season. “But now, of course, I don’t want this to end at all,” she said at the time.

She had a successful career after “friends”

Most of the careers of cast members crashed and burned after friends finished, but Aniston was a rare exception. She went on to star in several blockbuster Hollywood blockbusters, including Almighty bruce (2003), Breaking (2006), Marley and I (2008), Just go there (2011), Boss horribles (2011), and We are the Millers (2013). Aniston has become a bona fide movie star, however, fans will always associate him with the fun. friends character, Rachel Green. She has signed on to be part of the reunion special which is slated to air on HBO Max sometime in 2020.
