“I haven’t been on the internet for a while,” Mourey said at the start of the six-minute final.
She hasn’t posted any content publicly since June, when she announced that she would no longer be posting to her YouTube channel in a now-deleted video highlighting and apologizing for the racist content she posted at the start of his career. In the video, she showed a clip of when she posed as Nicki Minaj as she wore a black face and another of her using an insult to refer to Asian Americans.
“It’s not OK, and it hasn’t existed on the Internet because it’s not OK,” Mourey said in the June video. She had previously deleted the racist videos long before including them in her apology video, which she also deleted, as previously mentioned.
Before leaving YouTube, she had 20 million subscribers.
Solomita, who hosted the solo podcast from Mourey’s Online Silence, is still planning to broadcast on Twitch.
“Maybe one day in the future, Julien and I can do something else… For now, the podcast is goodbye,” Mourey continued. “I just want you to know I’m fine.” I’m getting help, and I’m just a person right now.
