James Murdoch has resigned from the board of directors of News Corp – the media empire ruled by his father, Rupert – citing “disagreements over certain editorial content” published by the company’s news outlets.
In a resignation letter dated yesterday, he said his decision was prompted by editorial disagreements and “certain other strategic decisions.”
According to documents filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the young Mr. Murdoch informed the company that he was resigning with immediate effect.
The nature of the disagreements or the media in question were not disclosed.
