How Selena Gomez and ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ Spotted Demi Lovato’s ‘Voice From Heaven’


Those who grew up watching Disney Channel in the late 2000s inevitably saw a lot of actors Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. Since leaving the network, the two have continued to perform while focusing on their singing careers. Here Gomez played a role in Lovato’s success.

Gomez and Lovato are both from Texas. They met at an audition for the children’s show PBS Barney and his friends. Both have the role. “When we first started touring Selena was always my favorite,” Lovato told People years later of her teammate and then best friend.
