The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is advising customers who have visited the Spirit Halloween store in Devonshire Mall to watch for symptoms of COVID-19 after a store worker tested positive for the virus.

The health unit was informed that the employee, who was working on August 25, tested positive for COVID-19.

WECHU staff have spoken to the employee and are working to identify close contacts, according to a press release from the health unit.

All appropriate precautions were taken by the locals and the staff member in question wore a face mask while working.

There is a potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 for customers who visited the store that day, but the health unit said the risk was “low.”

“As more and more companies continue to open up the potential for exposure to COVID-19 increases,” said Dr Wajid Ahmed, medical officer of health. “WECHU will continue to issue alerts whenever there is potential public exposure.
