Gary Neville’s previous assessment of Rodrigo Moreno will excite Leeds United fans

Leeds United are apparently in the process of making a deal to sign Spain international striker Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia. As stated by Goal, The Whites secured the Valencia forward in an initial deal worth £ 27million, but that could increase with potential additions.

It would be a record signing for the club for Leeds, going beyond the deal which saw Rio Ferdinand arrive at the club from Manchester United.

The Spanish side have now confirmed that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs and that only personal terms and a medical examination are now required to make this deal.

It’s an exciting decision for Leeds United and a prominent figure in English football will undoubtedly approve the signing.

Gary Neville briefly managed Rodrigo during his unhappy time at Mestalla. The Englishman was unable to work with Rodrigo immediately as the Spaniard suffered from a knee injury. In fact, he never made the most of the Leeds debutant, with Rodrigo failing to score under Neville’s tenure.

However, he was still a huge fan of the player.

“I’m very impressed with him,” Neville said. The world in January 2016. “Since his return from Christmas, he has trained wonderfully. He had a very good impact in the Real Madrid game. I believe in him a lot, I have a lot of faith.

Leeds United fans are no doubt hoping to see the best of Rodrigo at Elland Road once his move to West Yorkshire is finalized.

Hopefully that will mean better performance than he did under Neville. With Marcelo Bielsa his guiding light, this seems a likely proposition.
