France reports daily record after 4,897 new COVID cases were locked

PARIS (Reuters) – France’s health ministry on Sunday reported 4,897 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, marking the highest daily level since a two-month lockdown ended in May to fight the pandemic .

The ministry said the total number of coronavirus deaths in the country increased by one in the past 24 hours to 30,513.
