France pays tribute to six French aid workers killed in Niger

PARIS (AP) – Prime Minister Jean Castex paid tribute on Friday to six French aid workers killed last week in Niger, saying they were likely victims of the same type of hatred behind the 2015 terrorist attack on a music hall French. Castex bowed his head in front of the six blue-draped coffins lined up at Orly Airport in a solemn ceremony for those killed last Sunday along with two others at a giraffe reserve, 70 kilometers (45 miles) from the capital, Niamey. The six worked for ACTED based in Paris, another victim for Impact International based in Switzerland and the eighth was an expert guide. Their death is “the embodiment of evil,” Castex said.
