EastEnders has revealed a first glimpse of Jessie Wallace and Lacey Turner’s return to soap.
The duo are expected to return to the plaza next month when the soap opera finally returns to screens, after filming was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pair’s first snaps show them posing outside the iconic Queen Vic pub, as fans anxiously await EastEnders’ return to screens after a three-month hiatus.
Exciting: EastEnders revealed first glimpse of Jessie Wallace’s return to soap opera as she returns to plaza after being suspended next month
Jessie was suspended from EastEnders after being suspended for appearing drunk on set while filming.
The actress, who has played the fiery Kat Slater on and off for almost two decades, has been temporarily left out of screenplays after her behavior was “called into question.”
A source told Sun Online that Jessie’s recent outing to the pub is unlikely to cause her any issues with her bosses.
They said: “Jessie was socializing in her spare time and said she works normally so she won’t need to talk. “
Gorgeous: Bosses also offered a glimpse of Lacey Turner back on set, as she wraps up her maternity leave after taking a hiatus last year
It had been claimed Jessie had been taken to a crisis meeting with the show’s bosses, who allegedly suspended her for two months, ordering her to “get by” before returning.
Meanwhile, Lacey – who plays Stacey Fowler – is on maternity leave after welcoming daughter Dusty with husband Matt Kay last year.
Her exit came when Stacey drastically fled the square after attacking Phil Mitchell, and she split from her husband Martin during his absence after believing he was having an affair with her ex Sonia (Natalie Cassidy).
Back to Work: Earlier this month, Lacey appeared on EastEnders: Secrets From The Square, with fans expecting fireworks as she returns to soap
In soap fashion, fireworks are expected when Stacey returns to Walford, as Martin (James Bye) pursues a romance with his best friend Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton).
EastEnders will finally return to screens on Monday, September 7 after almost three months of absence from the air, when they had no more episodes filmed after the suspension of production due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The last dramatic episode before the break ended with Sharon (Letitia Dean) being revealed as the new owner of the Queen Vic pub.
Viewers had been tricked into believing Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) would take the reins, but Mick (Danny Dyer) managed to cheat on the tough Walford man.
In the meantime, viewers enjoyed the classic episodes of the soap opera, as well as the Secrets From The Square spin-off which saw star Stacey Dooley interviewing the cast.
EastEnders returns to BBC One on Monday, September 7.
Bombshell: EastEnders ceased broadcasting in June when there were no more episodes filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic. It should return to screens on Monday, September 7
