Employees at South Keys Loblaws, Findlay Creek Shoppers Tested Positive for COVID-19

OTTAWA – Loblaw reports three recent cases of COVID-19 in stores in Ottawa. On its website, the company reports that two employees at the South Keys Loblaws store at 2210 Bank Street have received presumably positive test results. The last day of work for the employees was July 26 and August 1.

The company is also reporting a presumptive positive case to the Findlay Creek Shoppers Drug Mart at 4744 Bank St. Loblaw says the team member’s last day on the job was two weeks ago, July 22.

These cases were reported on the company’s COVID-19 page, dated August 5 and August 4, respectively. It is not immediately clear whether other employees need to self-isolate as a result.

In a statement to CTV News Ottawa, Loblaw spokeswoman Catherine Thomas said some additional staff are self-isolating.

“In the event of a positive case, the stores work closely with the local public health team. They investigated and advised on all necessary steps that should be taken by those who were in close contact with the colleague in question. This includes some of our other team members self-isolating and watching for symptoms, ”Thomas said.

Thomas added that it is not believed that there is an increased risk to customers.

“The stores have all organized additional cleaning, in addition to the comprehensive sanitation measures already in place,” she said.
