Residents of British Columbia’s Lower Mainland were treated to a spectacular show Sunday night
The sky was lit by epic lightning bolts, leading to many ooohs and ahhhs from the ground, and prompting many people to pick up their cameras or phones to try and capture some of the jaw-dropping spectacle.
“From where I stood, I could see thunderstorms all over the coast of Vancouver Island, from Victoria to Comox,” writes Michael Thornquist, whose Instagram handle is @seaside_signs.
“I gave up on what I was doing and went to see this rare sight along the south coast of British Columbia. What a treat! At this point, I was dry and got eaten alive by giant mosquitoes. There were only scattered clouds above my head but I quickly realized that the storm was heading for the mainland, so I packed my bags and took off as fast as I could. could.
