Friends have taken to social media to express their devastation at her tragic death, describing her as a “dancing angel”, reports the Daily Record.
Dance teacher Holly Douglas wrote, “My dancing angel, my heart is broken.
“Words can’t describe how I feel Ava, we all love you so much you will never be forgotten at Full Out, you will always be part of our team and our family.
“The world is a cruel place thinking of the whole family right now, Ava I love you so much. “
Another friend wrote: “Aw Ava. We are all heartbroken.
“You were a beautiful little dancer and a beautiful, kind and adorable girl.
“Sleep well my little angel.
“Forever in our hearts and minds. ”
Scottish Police officers were called in to report the girl was in trouble in the River Leven near Balloch Bridge around 6:45 p.m. Sunday.
The coast guard, ambulance and firefighters were all present for the desperate three-hour search before his body was found.
“Emergency services have surrendered and searches have been carried out,” police said in an earlier statement.
“At around 9.45pm, the girl was collected from the water.
“Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. “
The child’s family has been informed of his death and investigations are ongoing, but police do not consider the death to be suspicious.
Previously, West Dumbartonshire Police, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Maritime and Coast Guard Agency have all confirmed they are involved in the search and have called on the public to avoid the area.
