The TV presenter appeared relaxed as he carried a take-out mug in Chiswick, London, after he and Ant McPartlin, both 44, said they were taking the summer off.

In May, it was reported that the show’s bosses were holding crisis talks to save this year’s show amid the pandemic.

According to The Sun, insiders were unsure whether the show would run later this year after the television industry was plunged into chaos by COVID-19.

A source at the time said, “I’m a celebrity six months from now, but the bosses are having meetings on how they can make sure this continues in the current climate. A series of measures are under study.

“One of the most recent plans was to employ a team of 95% Australian workers to overcome the problems with flights to different countries and quarantine restrictions.

“It would mean a lot of the show’s UK crew would miss their annual big concert, but ITV has to seriously consider all options. “

The insider added that due to the changing nature of the pandemic, all possible situations were planned.
