The 29-year-old paid £ 169 for the three-night stay with his five-year-old daughter Ellie but ended up spending hundreds of pounds to stay elsewhere.
“I had planned to go to Dubai in April, but it turned out badly,” he told Black Country Live.
“As soon as I had the chance, I decided to step away to try and get rid of the stress. “
However, when he arrived at the station on Sunday July 26, he quickly realized that this was not the relaxing break he had negotiated.
“It was horrible,” he said.
“I arrived at 4 pm and left by 5 am.
“I know this is a cheap vacation but I didn’t expect it at all. It was totally different in the photos. “
He continued, “There was a lot of garbage and when I opened the door there were about 20 or 30 ants walking on the ground.
“It looked like the floor had been mopped but that was it. It was horrible.
“The oven had not been cleaned, there was dirt and rust inside the microwave. The bed linen looked like it was from the 1960s, the dirt on the windows was unreal and stank of moisture.
“I just closed the door, I wouldn’t let my dog sleep in there, no matter my daughter and me. ”
Determined to take another break, Rowley Regis’ dad shelled out an additional £ 402 for a three-night caravan break at nearby Unity Farm and said other Pontine guests had the same idea.
“While I was in the queue the lady in front of me said the exact same thing and the lady behind me,” he said.
“I posted a post on Facebook and everyone said it was the worst it ever was.
“I didn’t tell anyone I was going, but they said if they had known that they would have warned me to stay away, that’s what I will do from now on, i will tell people not to worry.
“I’ve been to Brean a few times and everything is fine here to be honest it’s a cheap getaway. But I have never been to Pontins and I will never go back.
“I didn’t ask for a refund because there was a huge queue and I didn’t want to move to another because they all looked equally bad.
“It doesn’t look like I’m getting my money back. I could send them an e-mail but I am not very hopeful. ”
Pontins has been contacted for comment.
