8:00 a.m. – SeaBus departures will increase again

Starting next week, SeaBus departures on weekdays will be every 15 minutes between 7.15 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:15 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. A vacation schedule will be in effect on BC Day. Currently, the 15 minute crossings are operated only during peak weekday hours.

TransLink says demand is expected to continue to rise as British Columbia’s economy reopens and British Columbians take more trips to the province this summer.

As part of its COVID-19 protocols, TransLink says it has set the maximum capacity of the SeaBus at 50%, improved cleaning by using a disinfectant mist twice a week in addition to daily cleaning schedules, and posted signage asking customers to keep their physical distance and to wash their hands.

From 12:00 p.m. to 50 new cases outbreak declared at Dania Home in Burnaby

British Columbia health officials announced 50 new cases of COVID-19 as the August long weekend approached and declared an outbreak at a long-term care home in Burnaby.

Fraser Health confirmed on Friday that a staff member at Dania Home in Burnaby tested positive for the coronavirus.
