VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) – A COVID-19 outbreak at a health care facility in Maple Ridge was announced by the province on Tuesday, with 146 new cases and no deaths over a four-day period.Provincial health officials said a member of staff at the Maple Ridge Seniors’ Village tested positive for the virus as the outbreak at Mission Memorial Hospital was declared over. There are now three active outbreaks in health facilities.

Other cases have also been linked to the Fraser Valley Packers outbreak in Abbotsford, which now has up to 74 infections.

Meanwhile, the Fraser Health Authority is warning of possible exposure to COVID-19 at a hookah lounge in Surrey.

Anyone who was there between 11:59 p.m. on July 31 and 4 a.m. on August 1 or 11:59 p.m. on August 1 to 5 a.m. on August 2 are urged to watch for symptoms.
