COVID-19 outbreak at Langley Memorial Hospital


LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) – An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Langley Memorial Hospital.The outbreak was listed on the Fraser Health Authority website on Tuesday, and one was declared at Bear Creek Villa, a independent living facility in Surrey on Monday.

It is not known how many staff, residents or patients are affected in either location.

Langley Memorial once had an outbreak at Maple Hill, a hospital long-term care facility.

On Monday, the province announced an outbreak at MSA Manor, a care facility in Abbotsford.


The outbreaks are active in 10 Fraser Health facilities, including eight in long-term care or independent living.

Fraser Health also added recent COVID-19 exposure at the Hope River General Store on August 6-7 and 13-14.

In Vancouver Coastal Health, outbreaks remain active at Holy Family Hospital and Arbutus Care Center.

The province also set a daily record this weekend with 109 cases of COVID-19 in a 24-hour period, while reporting 269 cases in total.
