The study says 97,078 new cases of children were reported from July 16 to 30, bringing the total number since the start of the pandemic to 338,982. The age range varied from state to state, some include an age limit as high as 24.
California, Florida and Arizona had the highest total number of child cases in the United States, with more than 20,000 each, according to the report. By population, Arizona had the highest number, with more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 children, more than double the national average of 447.
