“We are seeing encouraging signs across the South,” Birx said during the taped call, according to the Center for Public Integrity. “We are concerned that Baltimore and Atlanta remain at a very high standard – [also] Kansas City, Portland, Omaha [and] of course what we talked about in the central valley [of California]Birx said according to the nonprofit press center.

The leading infectious disease specialist in the United States, Dr Anthony Fauci, told a news outlet on Thursday that he agreed with Dr Deborah Birx’s warning to these city leaders.

Fauci said Birx was warning problem areas because the increase in the percentages of positive COVID-19 tests “is a predictor of problems to come,” according to media reports. Fauci told a news outlet: “This is a clear indication that the number of cases is increasing, which inevitably, as we have seen in the southern states, leads to flare-ups, then you are hospitalized, then you die. ”
