Connor Swift to make Tour de France debut in support of Nairo Quintana

Connor Swift has become the third Briton confirmed to participate in the Tour de France 2020, in support of Nairo Quintana.

The 24-year-old has continued to deliver his potential, having won the UK Nationals in 2018 and rising to join ProTeam Arkéa-Samsic last season.

Since joining the France squad, Swift has become a key driver supporting Quintana in stage races, helping him secure victory in the 2020 Tour de La Provence and Paris-Nice.

Quintana and Arkéa-Samsic will focus on the overall classification of the Tour, after the Colombian joined the Movistar squad at the start of the season.

Sports director at Arkéa, Sébastien Hinault, said: “Clément Russo and Connor Swift will discover the Tour de France and the three-week races, but both have shown their strength during this season in the big races. Connor on the Paris-Nice roads protecting Nairo during the stages, and Clément doing a very heavy job in favor of his leaders on the roads of the recent Critérium du Dauphiné.
