Celtic’s Boli Bolingoli has been banned from three games for his quarantine violation, with a new two-game penalty suspended until February 28.

And the “Aberdeen Eight” each received a three-game suspension.

Bolingoli traveled to Spain, did not isolate and went on to play Kilmarnock.

Aberdeen’s Bruce Anderson, Craig Bryson, Sam Cosgrove, Michael Devlin, Jonny Hayes, Matty Kennedy, Dylan McGeouch and Scott McKenna broke the lockdown by visiting a bar on August 1.

The nine players learned of their fate at a Scottish FA hearing on Friday.

The suspended bans will only come into effect if they are again accused of discrediting football or failing to comply with the laws of the game by February 28.

After eight Aberdeen players night out at a downtown bar linked to a Covid-19 outbreak, two tested positive and the club postponed three matches.

As for the violations, Celtic – who had canceled two games following Bolingoli’s transgression – and Aberdeen are under investigation by the FPSL.
