Linda, 68, has struggled with Crohn’s disease since her early thirties, a disease that causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system.

Rylan’s mother also contracted sepsis in 2018, which almost killed her.

Discussing his return to the show with the Mirror, Rylan said, “It’ll be a year from now, we’ve really been lucky to be a part of the first and the second. It will all depend on what we do and if my mom is doing well enough.

“We’re never going to say that we don’t know what position we’ll be in ultimately.

Linda has become extremely popular since her stint on the prime-time show, but Rylan admits she has no idea what level of fame she is.

He said: “She doesn’t care about her fame, she doesn’t really know that. She is not on social media and I will never let her be.

Previously detailing his close relationship with his mother in a Sunday Times Magazine article, he wrote: “My mother, Linda, is my biggest headache, but I don’t know what I would do without her.

“She’s got the best of both worlds with me – I’m a son and a daughter. I can talk to her about makeup and blow dry her hair, and I can tell her to fuck. She is a handicap. She is the ultimate cross between Catherine Tate’s nan and Gavin & Stacey’s Pam.

Rylan met her husband Dan after being a roommate on the 2013 Big Brother series, while Rylan hosted the spinoff show Bit On The Side.

The couple got engaged in September 2014 and tied the knot in November 2015 to stars such as Eamon Holmes and Ruth Langsford, Amy Childs, Katie Price and Emma and Matt Willis.

In 2017, Rylan’s stepson Cameron gave his dads support by posing with them in a “Come Out For LGBT” t-shirt for a pride campaign.

Dan captioned the snap of the three of them, “My son stands by our side to support the LGBT community. We all have a role to play so #ComeOutForLGBT with us & @stonewalluk ‘

The Stonewall campaign was implemented to encourage gay and straight people to help make schools, homes and the workplace a safer place for LGBTQ + people.

Rylan said of Cameron in a previous interview, “I look at him like he’s mine. He can talk to me – I’m a daddy, but he can talk to me about sex! I will say, “As long as you are safe! If it was Dan, he would have said, “Stop it, Daddy!” “

He also admitted that he would like to have his own children someday, adding: “I am already a stepfather but, of course, I would like to have children. From day one, I have always wanted children. I love babies.

“It’s still on the table, it’s just when the time is right. If I had a baby, I’d be the type to want a year off just to be a dad. There are a lot of things that I have to watch.
