King tiger Star Carole Baskin called out Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for their use of big cats in the music video for the new single “WAP”, describing the clip as “lurid”.In a written statement to Billboard Responding to the video, the CEO of Big Cat Rescue said that in addition to her concerns about animal welfare while capturing the footage, she felt the clip could help “glamorize” the idea. to have them as pets.

“I guess most people won’t even see the Photoshopped cats in the scenes because the rest is so spooky,” Baskin said. “I was happy to see that it all appears to have been Photoshopped. It didn’t seem like the cats were really in the rooms with the singers. In fact, most of the rooms were probably photoshopped via a green screen. ”

Baskin added that while not in the room for the video itself, the scenes featuring a cheetah and a tiger would not have been organically captured, explaining that “you have to pose a cat wild in front of a green screen to get this image. and that does not happen in nature.

Baskin continued, “This can’t happen in sanctuaries like ours where cats have a lot of room to avoid a green screen (or would shred it if they had access to it and could die by ingesting it).

“It tells me that they probably dealt with one of the big pimps, who makes a living beating, shocking and starving cats to make them stand in front of a green screen in a studio. It’s never good for the cat.

Baskin added that the worst part of the video was its potential for “glamor” by keeping big cats as pets. “It gives every ignorant follower the desire to imitate by doing the same. After Tigers are too old to be paid to play sessions from people like Joe Exotic, Bhagavan Antle, Marc McCarthy, Mario Tabraue, and others, they become a liability rather than an asset.

“While I think most are destroyed behind closed doors at this point, some end up being given to people who want to have a tiger to show. It never works and the cats die or end up being dumped in sanctuaries or, worse yet, breeding factories.

“Either way, it’s still abusive to the cat.”

Earlier this week (August 6), Megan Thee Stallion confirmed that she is working on a film script.

Megan had previously hinted at a feature film development in her NME interview last month. In a new interview, the Houston rapper confirmed her work in progress and said she is a huge fan of horror films, but did not say if her own work would be part of the genre.

“It’s going to be something that will really blow your mind; you’ve never seen it before, ”she said Variety.
