Carlo Ancelotti considering Man Utd move to challenge Jordan Pickford as No.1 Everton

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring Manchester United Argentina international goalkeeper Sergio Romero to Goodison Park. The Italian wants to put pressure on Jordan Pickford as the Englishman failed to impress Ancelotti last season.

Pickford made a number of costly mistakes and Ancelotti believes the competition for places will help him improve.

Romero became frustrated at Old Trafford after being used sparingly, usually in Cup, during his five years with the club.

But he’s still Argentina’s number one after amassing 96 caps and is now looking for a move following Dean Henderson’s decision to also fight for David De Gea’s number one position after two seasons on loan at Sheffield United .

Sergio Romero is on Everton’s summer transfer radar

Newly promoted Leeds United are also monitoring Romero’s situation as he contemplates life in the Premier League.

Although Romero never let Manchester United down when handed him an opportunity manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to listen to the offers.

Ancelotti is eager to break into the transfer market and is in advanced talks with Real Madrid over Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez and Napoli midfielder Allan.
