In an interview with Page Six, Jamie Spears – Britney Spears’ father – just spoke about his tutelage over Britney and the #FreeBritney movement.
FYI, a court-approved guardianship or “guardianship” is, in the words of the New York Times, “generally used to protect the elderly, the mentally disabled or the extremely ill.” It’s unclear what the details of Britney’s guardianship are, but we do know that Jamie has been in charge of Britney’s financial affairs and physical well-being since 2008.
The basic tenets of the #FreeBritney movement are a) Britney is unnecessarily forced into guardianship b) clues about her well-being can be inferred from her social media posts.
“All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world doesn’t have a clue, “he said.” It’s up to the California court to decide what’s best for my daughter. It is no one’s business.
Responding to accusations that he was taking Britney’s money for himself, he said: “I have to report every penny spent in court every year. How the hell could I steal something?
“I love my daughter,” Jamie continued. “I adore all of my children. But that’s our business. It’s private. “
Jamie Lynn Spears also recently spoke about her older sister’s concerns: “You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to talk about her health and personal affairs. “
#FreeBritney recently got back on its feet, with many celebrities voicing their support including Snooki, Paris Hilton, Bella Thorne and Ariel Winter.
