British plan to return from France after transfer to quarantine

LONDON (AP) – British holidaymakers in France are scrambling to return home on Friday before having to self-isolate for 14 days following the government’s decision to reimpose quarantine restrictions in the country amid a recent upsurge in coronavirus infections. The government announced Thursday evening that it was removing France from the list of countries exempt from quarantine requirements, leaving holidaymakers, as well as those planning to cross the Channel, in the coming days, to think about the way forward. The French government has said it will respond in kind, a move that is expected to further hamper travel and tourism between the two countries.
